HOSTING A PARTY

How long does the party last?
Most parties last about 2 hours, but of course people are free to leave whenever they wish.

What is the format?
Informal and fun! Roxanne starts the party with a short talk (about 15 mins) about the projects in Nepal and how we got involved. She then displays the jewelry, which everyone is free to handle and try on.

What kind of jewelry is it?
Rings, pendants, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Hand-crafted beadwork, carvings, silver, precious and semi-precious stones.
Prices range from $8 to $100’s for exotic pieces, but there is absolutely no obligation or pressure on anyone to purchase anything.

What do I need to supply?
A large table (dining room is great) that people can easily walk around to view the jewelry.

What about food and drink?
Completely up to you. Some people serve tea and cookies. Others prefer wine and snacks.

What else do I have to do?
Nothing. Roxanne will come by about an hour early to set up the display.
(A great chance for the host to use her $50 credit! ;-))

How do the Nepal charities benefit?
20% of the profits from the sales go directly to organizations supporting children rescued from the sex trade, orphans, and abused women.
Also, the beadwork is made by lower caste women who are given training and a fair wage.
